Gordon E. Longley Sr.
Gordon E. Longley Sr. passed away at the age of 85 in Palm Harbor, FL. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm at Curlew Hills Funeral Home in Palm Harbor, Florida. The funeral will take place on Wednesday January 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at St Luke’s Catholic Church in Palm Harbor, Florida with burial to follow at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens. He was born in Holyoke, MA, November 29, 1932. He was the son of the late Dorothy and Victor Longley, and brother of late Kenneth Longley. They were longtime residents of Barrington, Rhode Island and moved to Palm Harbor, Florida in 1995. He grew up on a farm in Randolph, Vermont. He raised cow’s with a large dairy farm and his prize cow’s where named Olin and Norma. He owned and operated his own construction company “The Longley Builders” and went on to work at General Dynamics in Groton, Connecticut. He retired in 1994 after 25 years of working at EB. He was married to the late Pauline M. Longley. He leaves behind his children Gordon E. Longley, Jr. (wife Paula of Rhode Island), Christine M. Longley (husband Louis of Rhode Island), JoAnn M. Buteau (husband Paul of Florida), Carmen Fields (husband Henry of Florida) and the late Susie of Mass. Grandchildren Isabelle, Sara, Abigail, David, Faith, Luke, Bethany, Lisa, Joslyn, and 6 great grandchildren. Dad loved spending time with his late wife Pauline going on many vacations to Rhode Island and cruises, and spending time with each one of his grandchildren. He will be very much missed by all. Special thanks to Empath Health Suncoast Hospice entire green team for all the love and care they gave to Dad.
One of his favorite saying’s to say to his daughter’s was love you babe!! Another one of his favorite things to do when people would call the house he would say, Hogan Cogan fish market Hogan speaking Cogan is still fishing, sometimes people would hang up the phone and think they got the wrong number.
