Obituary for Walter Wagner
Walter Wagner died unexpectedly at his home on December 26, 2017 in Holiday, Florida at the age of 56.
Walter is survived by his parents, Joan and Walter Wagner of Dunedin, FL; his wife Colleen Wagner of Holiday, FL; his daughter, Mallory Wagner of Galion, Ohio; twin sister, Joannie Gifford ( husband Bill Gifford) of Palm Harbor; sister, Susan Pribil (husband David Pribil) of Brookville ; a brother, Robert Wagner (wife Valerie Wagner) of Englewood; stepchildren, Eric Ferrier of California and Michelle Saxarra of Tennessee and granddaughter Kandra Saxarra. He is also survived by his nieces, Jennifer Enchasi and Ellen Pribil; his nephews, Andrew Flores and Ryland Gifford; and his best friend and nephew, Lucas Gifford.
Walter was born on June 20, 1961 in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Monroe-Woodbury High School in 1979. He attended Pasco-Hernando Community College and earned his paramedic degree. His entire life he wanted to be a firefighter, like his father. He realized his dreams and became a Lieutenant for the Palm Harbor Fire Department. He was also a firefighter/paramedic with the Hernando County Fire Department. He recently retired from the Hernando County Fire Department.
Walter loved his family and his dogs, Mr. William Hornpipe and Bella. He will be remembered for his love of Jesus and for helping people in need. Walter will also be remembered for his amazing sense of humor, intelligence, and his kind and caring nature. He dedicated himself to caring for his parents over the past three years.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Curlew Hills, with a reception to follow at Crystal Beach Youth Center located at 517 Crystal Beach Ave., Crystal Beach, FL. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Walter’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Assembly of God Church, PO Box 367, Crystal River, FL, 34429. Contributions will be distributed between the Assembly of God Church, The Sanctuary Ministry in Crystal River, and the Kingdom Life Church in Holiday.
