Obituary for Forrest J. Anderson
Forrest Junior Anderson, age 89, of Palm Harbor, FL passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at East Bay Rehabilitation Center in Clearwater, FL.
He was born in Detroit, MI., on September 16, 1928, son of the late Hugh Forrest Drouillard and Gladys Ada (Riddell) Anderson.
Forrest was a Corporal in the Michigan Army National Guard. He served as a cook for Company B 125th infantry Battalion.
He moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 1964 and worked as a cabinet maker at Adey’s Cabinet Shop, later owned and operated Anderson’s Cabinets in Pinellas Park, FL. He retired from ATR Technologies in St. Petersburg, FL where he manufactured interior cabinets for Gulf Stream Aircraft. Prior to moving to Florida, he worked as a milk route man for Shady Lane Dairy in Alpenia, MI and Borden’s Dairy in Harrisville, MI.
He attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in Largo, FL and enjoyed woodworking, making wooden arts and crafts, and watching college football.
In addition to his parents, Forrest was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Louise (Locklin) Anderson whom he married July 19, 1969, adoptive father Fritz Victor Anderson, brother Marvin Dale Anderson “Andy,” infant daughter Debbie Lynn Anderson, and former wife Marilyn Jean (Risteau) Anderson.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherri Lin (Anderson) Miller (Charles) of Erie, PA, one son, Forrest Scott Anderson of Port St. Lucie, FL, two stepsons, Gary James Holmes (Betty) of Venice, FL and Richard Keith Holmes (Christy) of Harrisville, MI and both their respected families. Also, cousins and many friends.
There will be no calling hours for family and friends. Cremation will be handled by Curlew Hills Memory Gardens in Palm Harbor, FL. Private interment of the remains will be in Mount Joy Cemetery in Haynes Township, Alcona County, MI.
